Evaluation Question 1 (Music video) Becky

Our main inspiration for our music video was the music video of the new fame film. The main idea was the having various dance sequences involved to create this performing arts theme. We had to be careful because all the ideas we had was very similar to the ideas already in the fame video. So i then had this idea of having a dance group but having them all postioned on a modern statue in a park and then having some sort of street dance music . We found that this idea would be vey hard to do as it would require alot of technical dancing and neither of us have the skills to do it, as we couldnt find a piece of music that you could do it with that had lip syncing in it, so the whole music video would have been all about the dancing. We dont have a narrative attatched to our music video, its more of a represntation of teenage students having fun and playing around. Another one of our main inspirations was the new tv seires "glee". This tv programme represents the same sort of message we have in our video. Its about a group of teenagers at a school and they all join a "glee club" where they do various performances, preparing to compete in regionals. When thinking about which song to do we looked into alot of the "glee" songs as they were very upbeat and suitable to our genre. In the end we used one of their songs "halo/walking on sunshine". As it met our genre and the type of music video we wanted to do, which was to start off with a build up of music to the climax and up beat part of the song.

I expanded this concept by changing the colours around.

Ideas

I had this idea of her stood under this rain cloud. Which in reality rain clouds are seen as dull and grey, but I wanted the picture to have the contrast.

More drawing ideas

On this drawing idea "Danielle" aka. Hannah would be perched on the flower. I thought that i would be able to play around with the effects on photoshop as well to make the contrasts between the cartoony type back ground with a clear picture of Hannah .

My original idea was to draw the back ground taking inspirtaion from the lily allen album cover how the back ground was graphically drawn then a picture of lily photoshopped onto it. So i started drawing up a few different ideas. I thought about including things like fairy tale castle and quite playful as this relates to the knid of fun and up beat kind of artist we have chosen to do. These are my first rough ideas I started with. On this one i would take a picture of her with her arms up sliding down the slide. Also by using this cartoon playful back ground it relates to the kind of target audience we would have like young teens to teens. I wanted it to include lots of colour again to compliment the fun and exciting artist.

Ancilary Products

Becky and I have decided to go solo with our Ancilary products. The reason for this is because we have comnpletely different ideas. Becky is going for the more creative cover, yet I am going for the more basic and simple one. As much as I love the creative and detailed album covers like Paloma Faith and Lily Allen, I just think that the kind of artist Danielle is, she wouldn't have such an outgoing cd cover. She has just came from a girl group, so this is the first time she has had a solo album, so it would be more discreet and simple.
